February is an exciting month!!!!
A little birdie told me that today is Groundhogs Day… why is that exciting? Well, for several reasons! First of all, it means that yesterday was February 1st… which also means that yesterday was my Birthday, which also means that it is 12 days until Valentine’s Day! What’s so great about a month that holds both my Birthday & Valentine’s Day??? Well, it means that it’s a month full of love, and since we are ‘It’s a Love Thing Photography’, it means that we want to pass on some of the love and excitement we’re feeling to YOU!
I was recently told by someone that Valentine’s Day is a commercial gimmick and a money grab. Well, I’m not going to deny that it’s possibly a corporate ploy to make some extra money by selling heart shaped products and encouraging the sale of chocolates, roses, and eating out… But SO WHAT!?! Why not give into the corporate ploy and enjoy it a little. Now, people shouldn’t need a ‘holiday’ in order to express their love for each other, but seeing as how Valentine’s Day has been around since approximately the year 500 AD (If I’m wrong, don’t feel the need to point it out :p … I am simply believing everything I just read on Wikipedia…) then why not just have a little fun and pass along a valentine to your special someone, because, really, what’s the harm in it!?! After all that is going on in the world right now, think of the happiness that so many people/countries could experience if everyone just started with one day to share a bit of love and happiness.
Now, as I mentioned in the first paragraph, we want to pass along some love & excitement, but instead of just doing it for a day, we’re going to do it randomly throughout the month!
